Education with Migrants

Education with Migrant Students
– A teachers’ guide

A new situation arose in Europe following the Russian invasion of Ukraine: a huge movement of European students, nationally and internationally. Even teachers with experience with migrant students confronted new challenges. We brought together teachers from Ukraine, Poland and Sweden to explore the challenges and opportunities. This guidebook reflects
their experience.

A guiding principle of the work was the vision of a school where the presence of migrant students is seen, by their peers and by themselves, as an asset rather than a liability. One of the central themes to emerge was that of a ‘trauma-informed’ pedagogy, the subject of one chapter in the book.
