My life credo is to combine the power of critical thinking with responsibility for the planet. I believe that the right decisions are born in discussion, and the future has to be built on the principles of sustainability. We have to act locally, think globally and critically to protect nature with the power of convincing facts and conscious actions.

Married, I have a son and a daughter.

In 1989 I graduated from Ternopil State Pedagogical Institute. In 2006 I received a master’s degree in chemistry from Ternopil State Pedagogical University, and worked for a year as a chemistry teacher at Ternopil Commercial College.

Since 2007, I have been deputy director and teacher at the largest school in Ternopil (1700 students aged 6-17). I teach chemistry, biology, ecology and sustainable development.

In 2008, I became active in the Ukrainian NGO Teachers for Democracy and Partnership workingin two GAP International projects focused on Education for Sustainable Development, and the pilot project “Sustainable Households”.

Together with a large team of authors, I contributed to the book A Transformative Edge.

Immediately following the invasion of Ukraine in 2022, Legacy17 and GAP International were able to propose a support program for teachers, delivered by a Ukrainian team which I helped coordinate, over a period of four years: two rounds of Make Education Not War, followed by STSEM: Support for Teachers of Students with Experience of Migration.

In 2024-26, I participated in the CLARITY project concerning education and support for teachers of climate change.
